A gift store with a difference has just opened for business in Birmingham’s city center, created by start up company F7, a service that aims to support independent designers makers as well as helping them to gain more exposure.
The shop, F7 Lux, offers gifts that have that special something, as every item in the store is handmade by designer makers from across the UK, including many Birmingham based artists, featuring some of the UK’s best upcoming talent in modern jewellery design, with suppliers such as Myia Bonner, Kasia Piechocka, Jane Gowans and Milena Kovanovic. As well as textiles from NKOYO and cushions from Jo Hancox’s range “Sit on My Face”.
F7 Lux is also very proud to play host to Pickle, a travelling exhibition of contemporary jewellery by a collaboration of second year BA students from the world renowned Birmingham School of Jewellery. As well as displaying art curated by another Birmingham based start up Lamb White.
Running through December until February, the shop hopes to bring some sparkle to The Square shopping centre. Will Cutler, F7’s creator commented “We hope to be a destination for shoppers in and around Birmingham over Christmas and the New Year, we have unique and one off gifts for every budget, and know we can offer something really special this year”
