Otto kunzli, gold makes blind

On October 11, 2010 by cutlerface7

Maybe if the last two entries had seen this piece which was done in the 80’s, they might not have thought they where so original.

Otto Künzli is a Swiss-trained jeweller based in Munich. Through his work, he comments on cultural phenomena in a playful, ironic manner. His concepts are provocative and challenging; he is constantly questioning his motifs and motives in his making. Otto’s work is meticulously crafted, with studious attention to materials, and it is the intensity of this working process that provides each work with a powerful message.

“Gold is the most exquisite of all things…
whoever possesses gold can acquire all that he

gain entrance for his soul into paradise”.

This collection of jewellery evokes the prospect of precious crude treasures encapsulated, hidden, waiting to be discovered.
Each piece has emerged with uniqueness and character, having been transformed and turned into something completely unexpected.
